I like experimenting, be it clothes, hair or even home d cor accessories. You can completely change the look of your house by following some simple tips. It can be a centerpiece, new drapes, blinds or something as simple as new cushion covers! When used in an innovative and creative manner, these small changes can bring in a fresh breath of change to your place. You don\’t have to be a designer to do this; it is your home, change whatever you like to give it a cozy and a homey feeling.

My current fixation is with blinds. Earlier, when I heard about blinds the only image that filled up my mind was plain boring white or brown blinds on office windows. But now, that image is miles away from the truth. I was amazed looking at the huge variety of blinds available in the market these days. Blinds can be effectively used to control the amount of sunlight you want in your room or you can just pull them all down to have some privacy. You can choose wooden blinds to give your place a rustic feel or you can also go ahead with aluminum blinds to get that smart corporate chic feel. Trust me on this! You are going to be spoilt for choice.

With blinds adorning almost all my windows now (planning to get some more pretty soon!), here is a quick guide on some of the most trending blinds available in the market.

This is one of the most basic types of blinds; easy to install, easy to maintain and also available in different styles, shades, designs, and patterns. These blinds are better known as energy-efficient blinds. Their hexagon shaped cells trap in air, offering excellent insulation against both heat and cold, also helping you keep that energy bill in check. It is a perfect combination of style and efficiency.

Well, this is one of my favorite blinds (as they are perfect for my French windows). These blinds are best suited for large windows and are also popular for being used as room dividers. A simple click on the button, that\’s what it takes to control these blinds. They can effectively block out UV rays, as well as those prying eyes to give you that well deserved privacy. Even these blinds are available in different shades, textures, and design patterns.

Venetian blinds

These blinds are well-known for their adjustable slats. Venetian blinds can be made using different materials like metals, wood, vinyl or PVC.
